I’m a copywriter and culture journalist currently based in Berlin, where I cover subculture and the thrill-seeking corners of this lovably dysfunctional city. Turning pop culture references into marketing copy that actually works isn’t easy, so it’s super satisfying when you nail it.
As a lifelong Princess Diana stan, I fully support #Megxit.
If you asked me this 4 years ago, I'd argue that I'm a chill person that is looking for a peaceful work-life balance with clear boundaries separating professional and personal lives. But as they often say - never say never. Today I'm a start-up owner and seed stage start-up mentor specializing in risk management. My life now is the exact opposite of what I used to visualize for myself - 24/7 work and study surrounded by people that I love and adore that I call colleagues, friends and family at the same time.
This was my first experience working remotely with people from different countries, cultures and mentalities - an international hybrid of creatives and performers. What else was needed for an exciting journey? I took it on as an intriguing challenge and now it is an overly fun experience.
Despite working with a social media marketing agency, I am miles away from almost all social media channels, except for YouTube. 80-90% of my daily portion of YouTube content are dance videos. As a former dancer, I am addicted to creative choreography and quality videography.
An emoji that defines me OR an emoji I overuse
These are practically the same - ":3" (the "cat-smile") but the sad thing about it is that it doesn exist as an emoji yet :(
I’m a marketing specialist with a CV so long it starts back when MySpace was cool. I literally served in a military espionage unit and the knowledge I gained there often comes in handy in marketing. I also work for a non-profit which encourages entrepreneurship inside the local community. Paintgun allows me the flexibility I always lacked in my previous jobs. I also like the transparency of the company as a whole, sustainability effort, and the overall dynamics of work.
Knowing a user needs an item before the user knows it themselves. Tech giants already know so much about us, the only thing they are still lacking is the tech to understand the human factor behind our decisions. Once that tech is ready, and it will be ready at some point in the future, you’ll find a perfectly matched pair of shoes Amazon Primed to your doorstep before you even start looking (but not before you start considering to buy a new pair of shoes.)
I’m a multi-disciplined creative, writer and researcher with a zeal for captivating content. Popular culture is my sport and I play best when I keep my eyes on the performance marketing prize. I’m a social innovator with a meticulous mindset: always there when you call, always online. Hit my line if you want in on the most #relatable astrology memes or if you’re in need of a peak-time playlist to tap into your remote workflow.
TikTok. The millennial in me can’t resist memes in motion, global dance challenges and celebs spiralling. Remember Vine? (R.I.P.) TikTok is basically Vine but a thousand times better and if you’re not on TT you’re missing out on the joys of lip sync battles, playful pranks, bizarre talents and the very best in cute pet content. No wonder that, as of January 2020, it’s the most downloaded app in the US, outperforming Facebook and Instagram.
I’m Paintgun’s founder and a life-long start-up entrepreneur. As a kid listening to Tupac and Biggie, I dreamed of hustling and big money. As I grew up, my ambitions changed to making a meaningful impact in this world. Paintgun was about “painting the internet” – making the internet more beautiful. Now we are on the dark side of social media, but we try to do this in an interesting way, working with talented creatives to show something new, as well as contributing 7% of our revenue to giving back. We want to set an example for the tech industry, which as a whole is not playing its part in improving lives and the planet.
Living nomadic. Loving art, graffiti and surfing.
I’m a big fan of quoting important people (whose words make me sound intelligent). In fact have one for you right now: “Inspirational quote which widely and dishonestly oversimplifies a complex issue of great importance”.
Emoji I overuse:
I’m a father, runner, amateur filmmaker and CPA-dropper. Trying to underpromise and overdeliver at work and in life in general. My best moment at Paintgun has to be when we dropped CPA for a client by 44% in a few weeks. No one was expecting it.
Creative. Algorithms will overtake a lot of roles so designing and testing creatives will be the most important part. You want to stand out of the crowd – you can’t do that doing the same as everyone else. Creative people will have to work with performance people to make data-driven creatives.
I’m a globetrotter. I’ve lived and worked in seven countries across four continents in the last nine years. Operations by heart, always looking for efficiency in and outside of work. Working for a company that is making a difference in the world is great. Working with this diverse team of inspiring creative people is amazing.
Nonexistent. I only use LinkedIn
I’m a designer, researcher and climate activist living in London. When I'm not at Paintgun pushing sustainability, I run a climate communications agency called Adapt with my partner. I'm a bit of an eco-mentalist 😅 Finding a company that shares your ideals is rare, and Paintgun allows me to support and tell the stories of the amazing people working to make the world a better place through our 7–4 Species initiative.
I am a sucker for reddit: r/casualuk, r/aita, r/watchpeopledieinside
